The FX channel is a cable network owned by Fox and was created to compete against TNT and USA.
Aside from this, there was the spin-off channel FXX that is more focused on comedy.
With this, there were some shows moved from FX over to FXX to maintain this humorous side, and they wouldn’t compete against each other.
One of the primary shows that made this jump was “It’s always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
Along with these, two is the FXM (Fox Movie Channel). With all three being owned by FX Networks, which is a subsidiary Walt Disney, you are guaranteed some great TV shows and movies.
In this guide, we will see how to catch all the episodes of your favorite shows, among others.
If you try to watch FX online, you can come up to two hurdles. First, if you are not inside the USA, then you are geo-restricted. Later, we will see how to get around this. Second, you need your TV provider user ID.
Even if you are in the US and don’t have cable, you can’t watch any of the channels. You do need a subscription package with a TV provider, but luckily, all the following options grant you access FX, FXX, and FXM without cable.
This is great for cord-cutters, and for those outside the USA. With the right VPN and one of the following as your participating TV provider, you can access Simpsons World or other great shows like “What We Do in the Shadows.”
Just to recap, FX is for longer shows that are more gritty like The Shield or Mayans M.C. FXX is a comedy based and features shows such as Archer, You’re the Worst, How I Met Your Mother and Family Guy.
FXM delivers the best in movies from the network. If you attempt to access a show, it will say to continue watching this episode, sign in with your provider.
Where to Watch FX and FXX Online?
There are several places you can go to watch full episodes, but two of the services don’t offer FXM, though they are worth a mention.
First is Sling TV. This offers a 40% discount for new subscribers. It has two base packages, Sling Orange and Sling Blue.
There is also a combination plan. To stream FX and FXX, and have access to FX Now, you need either the Sling Blue at $25 per month ($15 for the first month), or the combo plan at $40 per month after the discount ends. (Read our SlingTV Guide)
It is a great way for a FX stream, but without FXM, it can leave users wanting.
FuboTV used to be a sporting service but has expanded. It comes with a 7-day free trial and then costs $54.99 per month.
It also comes with FX and FXX, but sadly no FXM. It offers over 20 channels dedicated to sports. It runs on a wide range of devices so you can stream full episodes.
Where to Watch FX, FXX, and FXM?
These three services offer all three components.
YouTube TV: $49.99 per month for 6 streams per account. Lots of Cloud DVR.
PlayStation Vue: $44.99 gives FX and FXX. If you want FXM, you need the Elite package ($59.99).
Hulu with Live TV: Hulu is a cheap option on the base package but doesn’t allow access to the FX Now app, so this means the Simpsons is ruled out.
Hulu comes with a one-month free trial on the smaller packages and one week with the Live TV plan. ($5.99, $11.99 or $44.99).
FX Now App
The FX Now the app is a great way to access full episodes, movies, and the full on-demand library.
You can resume watching programs where you left off, on the website including Roku, Apple TV, Xbox One, Android, and iOS, among others.
This will need a VPN to bypass geo-restrictions, but once you have the right VPN running. You just log in the app using your TV provider user ID and password (Sling as an example).
VPN’s to Access FX and FX Now
To get the best use of the services above to watch an FX stream, or to watch FX Now, you will need the best VPN services around.
This is ExpressVPN because it pushes geo-restrictions to the side and delivers the best streaming speeds going.
This VPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you can see how it performs, and test all the features.
Once it is running on your device, and you change the country to the USA, you have nothing to do, but sit back and enjoy.
